Over the last 20 years, the Portland Farmers Market has grown steadily and today manages more than 250 vendors at six sites in Portland’s urban core. Total sales for all vendors reaches nearly $6 million annually, with the majority of that income going directly to vendors and local farmers themselves. The Farmers Market administration is a nonprofit and the Anniversary Party was a fundraiser which made $10,000.
Entrees at the The International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Portland included things like: Baked Wild Salmon with Mushroom Miso and Steamed Rice
Portland Farmers Market has partnered with neighborhood organizations, FoodShare Fund Northeast, and Fresh Exchange to increase access to farmers markets for low income shoppers by matching funds for many recipients.
