Portland, April 18th, 2013. Advantis Credit Union President/CEO Bob Corwin and Vice President of Marketing Wendy Edwards presented a check to Terri Sorensen, President of Friends of the Children, to support the non-profit’s college scholarship program. Advantis believes education and learning can lead to incredible possibilities. That’s why Advantis recently donated $7,500 to non-profit Friends of the Children, funding scholarships for at-risk youth to further their education and vocational training. The scholarships will help youth facing poverty, unstable home lives, and other challenging circumstances achieve greater opportunities. This is the second year Advantis has supported the scholarship program at Friends of the Children, a non-profit organization that provides Portland’s most vulnerable children with intensive and long-term mentoring and resources throughout their K-12 school years.
