Portland, Oregon – The 54th Annual ACFChef of the Year Awards Dinner was held at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower. Receiving this year’s prestigious award is Executive Chef and Restaurateur Barry Bowers. Pictured are Chef Leif Benson, CEC, AAC 2012 Chef of the Year, Chef Barry Bowers and Chapter President Anthony Danna, CEC, AAC also Chef of the Year 1999. Barry Bowers and his wife, Natalie Frajola, own and operate the Flight Deck Restaurant and Lounge a full service restaurant and lounge at the Salem Airport. Bowers obtained a degree in culinary arts in 2000 from Western Culinary Institute (now named Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Portland).
ACF Chefs de Cuisine Society of Oregon, Inc., is a non-profit chapter of the American Culinary Federation, established in 1950. Membership is made up of chefs, purveyors and students dedicated to the profession of food preparation, hospitality, fine dining, competition and certification. Goals and objectives are achieved through community projects, volunteerism and reaching out to all those connected with the food industry.
