Portland-Based Project Runway Winner Seth Aaron Does it Again in an All-Star Round

Portland, January 9th, 2014.  “Winning this show is not about being on TV, it’s about the future,” local designer Seth Aaron said of his victory on Project Runway. ” This is the best collection I’ve ever made.” Project Runway season seven winner Seth Aaron Henderson proved  he’s a cut above the rest, winning season three of Lifetime’s Project Runway All Stars with his collection entitled “Ole.” The Portland-based designer beat out fellow finalists Korto Momolu and Elena Slyvniak with a mini collection inspired by his Spanish heritage and created in just four days for the finale runway show at The United Nations.

“Project Runway All Stars” season 3 finalists remembered their roots in the finale. For their final project, Seth Aaron, Korto and Elena were tasked to create a six-piece collection in four days with a $2,000.00 budget and they had to take inspiration from their own personal heritage.

The three designers visited the headquarters of the United Nations to meet with a delegate from their country. As the top three learned more about their country heritage, Korto and Elena shared their stories about relocating to another country.

Seth, who has Spanish heritage, was inspired by matador costume with red, gold and black dominating his collection.

Host and judge Alyssa Milano was joined by regular judges Georgina Chapman and Isaac Mizrahi as well as guest judges Zac Posen and Gayle King at the final runway held in the United Nations office.

Designer Seth Aaron has been a featured designer at Portland Fashion Shows like this fashion week runway show where he brought his family including son, Aaron, wife Megann and daughter, Tina

At the all-star contest, after some deliberation, the judges eliminated Elena first from the running to become the winner. Seth Aaron was then declared the victor, meaning Korto finished at the runner-up place. It’s Seth Aaron’s second win in the competition.
