“Peace poles remind us of the innate human longing to live in a world that is safe and free from violence and trauma,” said Drew Henrie-McWilliams, Morrison’s Chief Executive Officer, who presided over the May 20th event. “Peace is as simple and subtle as how we treat ourselves. Any and every time we are hurtful…we can forgive ourselves, and others and choose to carry peace into the future.”

From Morrison Child and Family Services:

Morrison Child and Family Services is a non-profit organization that delivers specialized services to children, from birth through age 18, and families coping with adversity and trauma. We respect the complexity of human nature and human needs–we guide children and their families through difficult issues by tailoring treatment plans to address individuals’ needs and help them live productive lives.

We are unusual among nonprofits: We fund our own program evaluation department because we want to ensure the children and families we serve get the most effective, high quality support available. Using data, we review actual outcomes and modify programs accordingly. We partner with schools, neighborhoods, public agencies and families to create programs for young people, ranging from education and prevention services to outpatient counseling and residential treatment.

Since 1947 Morrison has actively worked to improve the lives of children, their families and the local community. Our programs recognize and respect cultural differences and support the growth of children to enhance their schooling and future. This results in healthier, safer communities.

A worthwhile investment? We think so.

Join us in renewing hope for children and families struggling with challenging issues. Your financial gift, material donation or volunteer hours can make all the difference.

Restoring childhood. Rebuilding families. Renewing hope.
