Portland, OR. A local nonprofit encouraging family-friendly workplaces announced 19 Oregon winners of the prestigious national “When Work Works” award. Family Forward Oregon honored employers who have created flexible, family-friendly workplaces. Those who have taken concrete action and are leading the movement to change the way people work with the goal of creating a dedicated, healthy, more productive workforce. Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici presented winners with their awards, including The Hello Foundation.

Katrina and Justin Yuen are co-founders of FMYI, a local software company. They have won the When Work Works award for some their flexible and family-supportive workplace policies 5 years in a row.
Amy Donohue from Bora Architects, another When Work Works winner, shares why they created a paid family and medical leave benefit for their employees and how it’s working.
