Noon Tunes Summer Concert Series Rocks Pioneer Square

Portland, OR. Some of Portland’s favorite bands are filling the streets with music. The “Noon Tunes” Summer Concert Series has taken over Pioneer Square every Tuesday in July and August for 26 years. High School alternative rock band, Aventine Circus, performed on August 2nd as part of the series presented by Kink.fm and the Oregonian. Concerts run from noon to 1:00 and sometimes feature local sports teams. The upcoming “Noon Tunes” schedule includes:

Aventine Circus is made up of four high school boys from Portland who’ve been writing their own music and playing together since 2013. Band members include: Johnny Maddocks on bass, Sam Lorimore on guitar/background vocals, Graham Jonson on keyboard/lead vocals and Nick Waitches-Eubanks on the drums.

Every summer, “Noon Tunes” is a favorite lunch-break for people who work downtown.

People grab lunch at one of the local food carts.

There are nine free concerts from July 5th through August 30st.

There’s a variety of performers from the local area and the Northwest region.

Anchors from KGW, like Russ Lewis, sometimes emerge from their studio on the square to take in the festivities.
