Organizers host 800 special needs children and adults each year, providing free admission and lunch.

The event is made possible by the efforts of more than 1,000 volunteers and the support of dozens of sponsors.

“From its inception in 1988, the air show has always been about giving back to the community,” said Bill Braack, president of the Oregon International Air Show. “By having this new entity, whose sole purpose is to accept and distribute financial gifts, the air show’s board and staff will be able to continue our charitable mission while allowing us to focus on executing safe, entertaining and financially responsible aviation events.”

The U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey made an appearance at the air show.

Matt Younkin and the Beech 18 performed at Hillsboro Airport.

The Oregon Air National Guard celebrated 75 years with a special private event with their specially painted F-15 Eagle as a backdrop.

In order to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor, the Oregon International Air Show had several WWII vintage military aircraft on display and flying. The show also hosted several very special heroes – WWII Veterans.

Luc Herbiniere a pilot from the Breitling Jet Team from France was interviewed live on KUIK 1360 with Don McCoun.

Spectators used their high powered lenses to capture the jets in flight.
