Providence Child Center Feels the Love From Donations

Portland, OR. Providence’s most fragile children received some love from Carr Subaru and Subaru of America – $96,939 worth of love. Matt Taylor, Renate Rader and their son Gabriel joined representatives from Providence Center for Medically Fragile Children, and Carr Subaru and Subaru of America at a special check presentation on April 10th.

The donation is the result of Subaru’s recent Share the Love event, when Subaru donated $250 for every new vehicle purchased or leased to certain local charities, including the Bill’s Kids Fund at Providence Center for Medically Fragile Children.

The Bill’s Kids Fund is named in honor of Providence Child Center Foundation board member Bill Schonely, who also is known as Mr. Rip City for his three decades as the play-by-play announcer for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Since 2014, Subaru’s Share the Love event has donated more than $275,000 to support the round-the-clock care provided at Providence Center for Medically Fragile Children for young people with profound disabilities and complex medical needs.

The Carr Subaru donation represents one of the largest in the country made by Subaru to a local charity through the Share the Love event. Nationally, Subaru and participating dealers gave more than $23.4 million to charities through their 2016-2017 campaign.
