Animal Aid’s 10th Annual Bet for Pets Sets Fundraising Record

Animal Aid’s 10th Annual Bet for Pets Sets Fundraising Record

Portland, September 27th, 2014. 136 supporters and volunteers crowded the World Forestry Center for Animal Aid‘s tenth annual “Bet for Pets” Casino Night. The benefit raised almost $44,000 to support the no-kill animal welfare nonprofit. KPTV co-anchor Kimberly Maus acted as emcee for a great night of casino gaming, silent and live auctions, and 100 bottle “Wall of Wine” raffle, “happy tails” speakers talking about their beloved adopted animals, custom cocktails (you haven’t lived until you’ve tried the “Cosmo Kitty” and the “Ay, Chihuahua”!), and a fabulous selection of appetizers and desserts. In addition to regular rescue and adoption activities, this included much-needed renovations at the shelter, construction of an emergency dog kennel, and providing financial and organizational help establish small animal housing at Washington County’s Monika’s House, one of only three domestic violence shelters in Oregon that allows residents to bring their pets with them to safety.

From Animal Aid:
