Cat Adoption Team’s Kitten Palooza Finds Homes for 68 Feline Friends
Sherwood, June 29th, 2013. The kittens were ready to race at Cat Adoption Team’s first ever Ultimate Kitten Derby — all were adopted during Kitten Palooza. A total of 68 cats and kittens found families during the event. It was the largest kitten adoption event in the Portland metro area and took place at Cat Adoption Team’s (CAT) shelter in Sherwood.
Paloma and her friends faced off and the top four finishers received ribbons which were sent home with their new families. The event included raffle drawings and a 25% off sale on scratch posts. Kitten Palooza was sponsored by The Oregonian and Petfinder.com.
About Cat Adoption Team:
Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the Pacific Northwest’s largest non-profit, feline-only adoption guarantee shelter. CAT was the first animal shelter in Oregon with its own full service veterinary hospital on site (2002). CAT was also the first shelter in the Portland-metro area to open an organized pet food bank (2008). CAT’s mission is to work with the community to save the lives of unwanted, homeless, sick, and injured cats and kittens by offering shelter, adoption, foster, low-cost spay/neuter, and veterinary services to end needless feline euthanasia. CAT has found homes for more than 30,000 cats and kittens since it opened in May 1998. This year, CAT will find homes for over 2,700 felines. As a 501(c)(3) publicly-supported charity, CAT relies on the generous support of the public and volunteers.
