Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler Helps Metropolitan Family Service Foster Intergenerational Relationships

Portland, OR  Hosted by Metropolitan Family Service, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler visited Sacramento Elementary School on May 3rd to highlight Portland’s status as an Age Friendly City. The City of Portland sponsors Experience PDX, a Metropolitan Family Service program that harnesses the power of intergenerational relationships to address social challenges and promote racial equity in our schools. The program builds upon the successful AARP Foundation Experience Corps model to realize even greater gains in both academic and social emotional learning for students K – 3rd grade.
